Escambia County Superintendent Keith Leonard joins us to talk about students returning to school in Escambia County Wednesday. Teachers started last week. 31,000 students return to school this year. School District has an A grade. The 26/27 school year - excited to push students academically. Making sure HVAC works (lol), security in place, and more.
Prinicpal of West Pensacola Elementary, Christine Baker, joins the show to talk about how they are a Healthy School. They are part of the Ready Kids Program. They have after school programs like safe sitter classes, crochet, YMCA sports - some after school enriching opportunities and life lessons moving forward. She talks favorite first day traditions like being at the door to greet every student for drop off?
Janet Penrose is the principal for Brown Barge Middle School. Shes getting ready for students. Its a unique middle school. No traditional classes - all subjects - and students thrive in this environment. All middle schols have different clubs and electives. Music, tech, culinary, foreign language, clubs are endless. Its exciting to watch kids get excited about something and watching them find their people.
