A newly developed rapid COVID-19 antibody test that functions much like a home pregnancy test but with two drops of blod is already being distributed to some parts of Florida. It costs $25, takes 10 minutes, and his highly accurate (both specificity and selectivity), using a combination test for both kinds of antibodies (IgM and IgG) to discern whether someone is currently infected or previously infected. Dr. Vincent DeGennaro is an epidemiologist and the Medical Director/CEO of Abacus Pharma International, the distributor of the Covid-Rapid test from Sure Bio-Tech. He and Andrew McKay discuss the way this newest test works and how it solves for some of the concerns about accuracy for antibody tests that look for the novel coronavirus.
