The 7am Hour brings us: Days of our Pensacola. asking Pcola residents to ban AI data centers, the proposal is a morotorium on a center that is 50 megawatts or more, concerns w language in the morotorium, how do you write that law? banning AI? Do they ban a 20 or 30 megawatt data center? Or just the 50 megawatt data centers? Pensacola City Councilperson Jared Moore talks about this is why local government exists to talk about environment and water - but a lot of our lives use this data. Citizens may stifle opportunity when trying to ban Data Centers , whatever is on your phone - China can see it if youre using Tik Tok as China tries to beat us in tech. He (Rep Patronis) says he cant supoort Data centers if it increases electric rates for local citizens. Capital expenses taking place, what dependency the world is going to have on AI.
